Mental Health Apps to Keep You Healthy in Isolation
WHAT'S UP
WHATS UP is a free app that utilizes both CBT and ACT therapy to create an easy to use experience for users, both emphasizing positivity and helping control the negative. This app utilizes positive metaphors, a comprehensive diary, forums, a habit tracker (for both positive and negative habits!), grounding games, breathing exercises- and maybe best of all, it’s password protected, so your therapy can stay yours. The app includes even more features, and is rated 4.5 stars!
MOODKIT
MOODKIT is a CBT app that seems to “have it all” in tools for users, and features a very modern, navigable interface. Features of this app include over 200 activities, IOS calendar integration, mood charts, thought guidance, and four major “tools”,
Activities: Activities geared to reduce negative feelings and enhance well-being
Thought Checker: helps you manage negative feelings and change how you view problems
Mood Tracker: Chart daily ratings of your mood
Journal: Create, save, and export Journal entries
($4.99; IOS)
HAPPIFY
HAPPIFY is created to help you with negative thoughts, stress, and everything that life can bring. This app has both a free and paid version, and utilizes over 70 “goal tracks”, each tailored to help with a certain specialty, such as stress coping, conquering negative thoughts, meditation, and more. While I usually harbor a passionate disgust for any app that charges yearly subscriptions, this app has been rated by many psychologists and users to be one of the most effective platforms out there (https://www.psyberguide.org/apps/). (Free; IOS and Android)
SANVELLO
SANVELLO is currently offering free premium access during COVID-19, so now is your chance to take advantage of all of the features of this app! Also, once the COVID-19 crisis eventually comes to a close, the premium app is covered by many insurance plans- you can see if yours is applicable in the app. This app certainly makes large promises, as it is utilized by over 3 million users, averages a 4.8 app store rating from about 6,900 reviews, and is rated #47 in Medical apps. Features of this app include daily mood tracking, mental health “master classes”, mental health tools, progress assessments, a community of other users, and apple health integration!
